Job Description: Construction SafetyLocation: Jagiroad, AssamYears of Experience: 8 to 12 Years1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Construction Site Safety Management- Develop and implement a Construction Safety Management Plan (CSMP) for the project. - Monitor day-to-day construction activities including civil works, structural erection, MEP installations, equipment installation, facade works, scaffolding, excavation, working-at-height and hot work. - Ensure compliance with method statements, lift plans and risk assessments before execution.B. Risk Assessments & Work Permits- Conduct and review HIRA and method statements submitted by contractors. - Implement, monitor, and audit the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for high-risk activities such as: - Working at height - Confined space entry - Electrical isolation - Lifting operations - Excavation and trenching - Hot work - Verify availability and proper use of PPE and safety equipment.C. Contractor & Workforce Safety Management- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and project management teams to ensure adherence to company safety standards. - Review contractor safety plans, manpower competency and safety performance. - Conduct toolbox talks, pre-task briefings and daily safety interactions at site.D. Compliance & Documentation- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements including The OSH Code 2020, Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) regulations and environmental guidelines. - Maintain safety documentation including: - Audit reports - Inspection checklists - Incident/near-miss reports - Weekly and monthly safety dashboards - Ensure proper reporting and closure of non-conformities.E. Safety Audits & Inspections- Conduct regular site inspections, scaffold inspections, equipment checks and housekeeping audits. - Support internal and external audits from management, customers and regulatory authorities. - Verify lifting tools/tackles, machinery and electrical safety compliance.F. Emergency Preparedness & Response- Develop and implement site-specific emergency response plans for construction activities. - Conduct mock drills for fire, medical emergencies, rescue from height and confined space. - Ensure emergency equipment availability, placement and readiness.G. Training & Competency Development- Conduct safety induction programs for all new workers and supervisors. - Provide training on key topics such as: - Working at height - Confined space - Lifting operations - Electrical safety - Scaffold safety - Fire safety - Promote a culture of safety awareness through campaigns and continuous engagement.H. Coordination with Project Teams- Work closely with project, contractors, utilities etc. to ensure safe planning and sequencing of construction works. - Participate in review meetings and provide safety inputs during design changes, construction planning and commissioning.2. Required Skills & Competencies- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, BOCW rules and industrial project safety requirements. - Experience in high-tech/industrial construction such as semiconductor, electronics, pharma, automotive or large infrastructure projects. - Solid understanding of MEP, structural, civil and mechanical erection safety protocols. - Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, PFDs and safety interlock logic. - Ability to conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions. - Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.3. Preferred Background- Experience in large-scale construction projects, particularly industrial, semiconductor, pharma or manufacturing plants. - Familiarity with international safety standards such as OSHA, ISO 45001, NFPA and applicable national standards.
