Lead/Senior Automation Engineer

 Location: India - ChennaiType: Full Time Job DescriptionWe are seeking highly skilled and motivated Automation Engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive automated testing frameworks. The role focuses on developing and executing automated tests, identifying automation opportunities, and ensuring high-quality software delivery by proactively identifying and resolving issues through robust automation strategies, while collaborating closely with development teams and stakeholders to optimize testing processes. Responsibilities·      Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks.·      Develop and execute automated test scripts for UI and API testing.·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide testing support.·      Create and execute test cases for REST services to validate system functionality.·      Identify and implement new automation opportunities to improve test coverage and efficiency.·      Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, checklists, and test plans.·      Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.·      Stay up to date with new testing approaches, tools, and test strategies.·      Identify quality KPIs and contribute to improving them through effective automation strategies.·      Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.·      Participate in Scrum ceremonies and adhere to Agile principles in testing activities.·      Evaluate and perform Proof of Concept (PoC) with new tools and frameworks when required. Skills·      3-7 years of experience in automation testing using Java.·      Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, concepts, and best practices.·      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.·      Experience in API testing using Rest-Assured framework.·      Experience in UI automation using Selenium WebDriver or Playwright.·      Experience in creating and maintaining automation frameworks.·      Strong expertise in BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber).·      Knowledge of database concepts and data validation techniques.·      Experience with test management tools such as Xray, Zephyr, or similar.·      Exposure to Git or other distributed version control systems.·      Experience integrating automation tools with CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins or GitLab.·      Basic knowledge of AWS Cloud and Docker is a plus.·      Exposure in performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling) is a plus.Education·  B.Tech or M.Tech in a relevant engineering discipline
