Job Title: Quality Chemist – Color CosmeticsJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Chemist specializing in color cosmetics to ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance across all stages of manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in testing and evaluating products such as lipsticks, foundations, and other color cosmetic formulations.Key Responsibilities1. Product Quality TestingPerform comprehensive quality testing of color cosmetic products including lipsticks, foundations, mascaras, and pressed powdersEvaluate physical, chemical, and sensory properties to ensure product consistency and performance2. Stability TestingConduct stability studies including:Thermal stabilityUV exposure testingAccelerated aging studiesAnalyze results to predict product shelf life and recommend formulation or packaging improvements3. Pigment Dispersion & Color MatchingAssess and optimize pigment dispersion for uniformity and performancePerform color matching and shade development using spectrophotometry techniquesEnsure batch-to-batch color consistency4. Analytical TestingConduct routine and advanced testing including:Viscosity measurementpH analysisEmulsion stability evaluationMaintain and calibrate laboratory instruments5. Batch Release & TroubleshootingPerform batch release testing in accordance with internal specifications and quality standardsInvestigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and implement corrective actionsSupport production teams in troubleshooting formulation or processing issues6. Regulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with international cosmetic regulations including EU and FDA standardsMaintain proper documentation aligned with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)Assist in audits and regulatory inspectionsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related fieldProven experience in color cosmetics quality control/assuranceStrong knowledge of emulsions, pigments, and formulation scienceKey SkillsExpertise in spectrophotometry and color scienceStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAttention to detail and documentation accuracyFamiliarity with GMP, ISO standards, and regulatory guidelinesEffective communication and cross-functional collaborationPreferred ExperienceHands-on experience in a color cosmetics manufacturing environmentExposure to new product development (NPD) supportKnowledge of raw material specifications and supplier quality evaluation
