String Rework

Position: Module String Rework TechnicianDepartment: Production / Quality Location: Solar Module Manufacturing Plant Reporting To: Production Supervisor / QA EngineerJob PurposeTo perform string-level repair activities in solar module manufacturing by identifying and correcting soldering defects, damaged cells, ribbon misalignment, and electrical continuity issues to ensure high product quality and reduced scrap.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform string rework activities including desoldering, re-soldering, cell replacement and ribbon realignment.Identify defects using EL inspection, visual inspection, and string tester / continuity checks.Ensure correct polarity, alignment, and solder joint quality as per SOP.Maintain soldering temperature, pressure and process parameters within defined limits.Clean reworked areas and remove flux residues using approved solvents.Conduct post-rework inspection and ensure EL pass before releasing strings to lay-up/lamination.Record all rework activities in daily production and quality logs.Follow ESD, safety, and cleanroom protocols at all times.Support QA team during internal audits, customer audits and process validations.Highlight recurring defects and suggest process improvement actions.Skills & CompetenciesGood knowledge of solar cell stringing process.Hands-on experience in manual soldering.Ability to read EL images and identify cell/string defects.Understanding of half-cut cell module design and polarity logic.Basic understanding of quality tools and documentation.Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.Educational QualificationITI / 10+2Experience6 Months – 3 years experience in solar module manufacturing or electronic soldering/rework environment preferred.Benefits Perks: Accommodation Travel Allowance Food Allowance
