Warehouse Assistant Manager

Job Title: Assistant Manager Warehouse Location: Jalgaon Department: Warehouse & Logistics Job Purpose: To manage and oversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, dispatch, inventory control, and documentation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in line with company policies and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Warehouse Operations Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, stacking, storage, picking, and dispatch. Ensure proper handling of materials to avoid damages, losses, and delays. Monitor and maintain housekeeping & 5S in the warehouse area. 2. Inventory & Material Management Maintain accurate stock levels through regular cycle counts and physical verification. Coordinate with Production, Purchase, and Sales teams for timely material availability. Manage raw material, consumables, WIP, and finished goods as per FIFO/FEFO principles. Ensure inventory accuracy in ERP/SAP system. 3. Documentation & Compliance Oversee GRN, issue slips, stock transfer, and dispatch documentation. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (E-way bills, GST, excise if applicable). Maintain proper records for audits and ISO/TS certifications. 4. Team Management Lead and guide warehouse supervisors, operators, and contract manpower. Train team members in material handling, safety, and process adherence. Monitor productivity and discipline of warehouse staff. 5. Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with Transporters, Dispatch, and Logistics for timely deliveries. Report daily stock, inward, and outward movement to SCM Manager. Identify areas of cost reduction and process improvements. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of warehouse management, material handling, and inventory control. Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems and MS Excel. Knowledge of safety standards, ISO/TS documentation, and lean practices (5S, Kaizen). Analytical mindset, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Good communication & coordination ability across departments. Educational Qualification & Experience: Graduate / Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or relevant discipline. Certification in Warehouse/Logistics Management preferred. Experience: 5–10 years in warehouse/inventory management, preferably in manufacturing (automotive/electrical/engineering industry).
