Structural Designer & Cost Estimation

Civil Engineer with 5–7 years of professional experience in structural design, cost estimation, quantity surveying, and tendering activities. The candidate will be responsible for design optimization, preparation of detailed estimates, BOQ/BOM, BBS calculations, and providing technical support during pre-tender and execution stages.Key Responsibilities1. Structural Design & Optimization· Carry out structural analysis and design of RCC/steel structures as per IS codes and relevant standards· Optimize structural designs to ensure safety, economy, and constructability· Prepare and review structural drawings and design calculations· Coordinate with architects, MEP teams, and site engineers for design clarifications2. Pre-Tendering & Costing· Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil and structural works· Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications· Perform rate analysis as per applicable SoR / market rates· Assist in bid strategy, pricing, and tender submissions3. Quantity Surveying· Carry out detailed quantity take-off from drawings· Monitor and control quantities to avoid cost overruns· Prepare quantity reconciliation statements and variation estimates4. BOQ & BOM Preparation· Prepare item-wise BOQ with accurate descriptions and quantities· Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for concrete, steel, and other construction materials· Ensure BOQ/BOM alignment with drawings, specifications, and tender conditions5. BBS (Bar Bending Schedule)· Prepare detailed Bar Bending Schedules for RCC elements· Calculate steel quantities accurately and optimize reinforcement detailing· Cross-verify BBS with structural drawings and design calculations6. Technical & Documentation Support· Assist project teams during execution for design and quantity-related issues· Prepare technical clarifications, method statements, and reports· Coordinate with consultants, clients, and contractors for approvalsSkills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills· Strong knowledge of RCC and structural design· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and estimation tools· Working knowledge of ETABS / SAFE / STAAD – Preferred· Sound understanding of IS codes, SoR, and tendering proceduresPreferred Industry Experience· Infrastructure Projects· Water Supply / OHSR / ESR· Government & EPC Projects
