This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our diverse database infrastructure—including SQL Server, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL DB, and Microsoft Fabric environments—ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. Job Type: Full Time / on BizAcuity payroll Location: Hyderabad (Onsite/Work from Office, Mon-Fri) Shift: 5AM-2PM US Central TimeResponsibilitiesDatabase AdministrationCloud & Hybrid Management: Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud-based database environments, with a specific focus on Azure SQL Database and Azure Cosmos DB. Solution Design: Design, implement, and optimize scalable database solutions using Azure native services to support business requirements. Performance: Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization for both relational (SQL) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB) workloads. Maintenance: Implement and maintain robust backup, recovery, and failover procedures for cloud and on-prem systems. Security: Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards across all Azure and local data stores. Data Management & Modern AnalyticsFabric & Analytics: Lead the adoption and management of Microsoft Fabric for unified data analytics, ensuring seamless integration of engineering, science, and analytics workflows.Strategy: Develop and implement data management strategies, including the use of Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics for modern data warehousing. Quality & Migration: Oversee data quality initiatives and lead complex data migration projects to cloud platforms (Azure). Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Team & Client LeadershipTeam Management: Manage and mentor a team of DBAs, assigning tasks and providing technical guidance on Azure technologies. Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and managing expectations to deliver projects on time and within budget. Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: 8+ years of experience as a DBA. Must have proven experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB. Fabric Expertise: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, etc.) is highly desirable.Leadership: Proven experience in managing and leading database teams. Technical Skills:Strong understanding of database design, implementation, and optimization for high-throughput transactional and analytical systems. Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Certifications: Certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate are preferred. Preferred SkillsScripting: Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation. Modelling: Advanced knowledge of data modelling and ETL processes using Azure tools. Governance: Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview) and compliance frameworks. Additional Azure Tools: Familiarity with Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, or Logic Apps is a plus.
