Special Educator (RCI Certified) Location: Hyderabad (on-site) Employment Type: Full-time Working Days & Hours: Monday – Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹50,000 per month (based on qualifications and experience)About Wellness HubWellness Hub works in early childhood development and special needs support. BASICS received Google's Best App for Good 2023 (India).BASICS Pro — our therapist-facing platform, where practitioners design home plans for their clients and track therapy progress.TeleBASICS — our online therapy platform for live video sessions, with synchronized games and resources.Our clinical team includes special educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral therapists, and clinical psychologists, working alongside our product and design team.Role SummaryAs a Special Educator, your primary work is direct one-on-one therapy with children across early years and school-age groups. You'll design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), assess progress, and coach parents. Alongside clinical work, you'll also contribute clinical input to the content and programs delivered through the BASICS app.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Work with Children and FamiliesConduct one-on-one therapy sessions with children across early years and school-age groups, addressing a range of learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.Design and maintain Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each child's developmental profile, family context, and goals.Assess children's current functioning using appropriate clinical tools, observation, and parent interviews.Track progress session by session and maintain accurate session notes and progress reports.Coach parents clearly — translating clinical goals into home strategies they can follow.Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral therapists, and clinical psychologists on shared cases.Conduct online sessions via TeleBASICS where applicable.Participate in case discussions, clinical rounds, and multidisciplinary team reviews.Content Contribution to BASICSA portion of your week (roughly one day equivalent, spread across the week) will be dedicated to contributing to BASICS:Contribute clinical input to the design of activities, video scripts, printables, and home programs.Review and give feedback on content in production — flagging clinical issues, suggesting adaptations for different child profiles, and improving clarity for parents.Co-design resources for BASICS Pro where relevant to your specialty.Contribute to module development across Communication, SEL, early literacy, and other areas as the product grows.Professional DevelopmentStay current with best practices in special education, early intervention, and evidence-based therapy approaches.Participate in internal clinical training, case discussions, and external conferences or workshops where relevant.QualificationsRCI Certification with a Special B.Ed. or equivalent qualification in Special Education (mandatory).A degree in Psychology — preferred, not mandatory.1–3 years of experience working with children with developmental needs. Fresh graduates with strong internships and clinical exposure are welcome to apply.SkillsStrong foundational knowledge of child development across early years and school-age stages.Clear understanding of how to design, implement, and adapt IEPs.Verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Telugu and/or Hindi is helpful for parent coaching.Comfort in coaching parents — explaining clinical ideas in plain language.Empathy and patience with children; ability to build rapport and read non-verbal cues.Collaborative working style across a multidisciplinary team.Comfortable using digital tools (Google Workspace, video platforms, documentation software).Openness to contributing to content and programs, not only direct therapy.MentorshipYou'll be mentored by Mrs. Lakshmi Ravindra, Developmental Psychologist and Special Educator with 35+ years of experience in Special Education and Developmental Psychology.
