Lab Operations Head (Corporate Office)

The Corporate Laboratory Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing, standardizing, and optimizing laboratory services across the hospital network. This role ensures quality, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency and operational excellence across all diagnostic laboratories within the group.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational ManagementOversee day-to-day laboratory operations across all hospitals in the networkStandardize lab processes, SOPs, workflows, and reporting formatsMonitor TAT, test volumes, quality indicators, and productivity metricsEnsure optimal utilization of manpower, equipment, and reagentsQuality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with NABL, CAP, NABH, ISO and other regulatory standardsLead internal audits, external audits, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)Implement quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocolsFinancial & Cost ControlPrepare and manage laboratory budgets across unitsControl reagent costs, vendor contracts, AMC/CMC and consumablesDrive cost optimization without compromising qualityTechnology & AutomationOversee LIS implementation, integration with HIS, and digital reportingEvaluate and implement automation, new equipment, and diagnostic technologiesEnsure data accuracy, cybersecurity, and system uptimeTeam LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop lab managers, pathologists, and technical staffSupport recruitment, training, competency assessment, and performance reviewsFoster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvementVendor & Stakeholder ManagementManage relationships with equipment vendors, reference labs, and service partnersCoordinate with clinicians, hospital administrators, and corporate leadershipSupport new hospital launches, lab setup, and commissioningQualificationsMD / DNB (Pathology / Microbiology / Biochemistry) MSc / PhD / MLT with strong hospital lab leadership experienceExperience12 to 15 years of experience in hospital laboratory servicesMinimum 3–5 years in a multi-unit or corporate leadership role preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of clinical laboratory operationsRegulatory and accreditation expertiseFinancial acumen and data-driven decision-makingLeadership, communication, and stakeholder managementExperience with LIS/HIS and lab automation
