Our mission is to connect people and ideas by building advanced systems that enhance the quality of life for millions across more than 14 countries.Role OverviewThe Airtel Africa Digital Labs (AADL) fosters a dynamic, engineering-led work environment where contributions are recognized immediately. All AADL teams participate fully in every phase of the development and project deployment lifecycle.· Lead a team of over 10 Project Managers.· Manage end-to-end delivery of new platforms and products, including feature enhancement for deployed solutions.· Resolve obstacles hindering progress within engineering teams.· Represent AADL as the engineering leader and technical expert in engagements with leadership across 14 OpCos and group executives.· Facilitate alignment and communication between engineering, business, and local market teams to achieve project objectives.· Ensure the launch of new services integrates both technical and commercial requirements.· Coordinate with local marketing, sales, and operations to prepare them for new feature or service adoption, including appropriate training for OPCOs.· Apply domain expertise and analytical acumen to support successful feature deployment and adoption.· Anticipate and mitigate project risks through proactive solution development.· Align projects with overall business strategy, providing strategic guidance when necessary.· Continuously enhance software development processes and team productivity.· Oversee recruitment, training, and supervision of project delivery staff.Key Qualifications· B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology with 15–25 years of experience in scalable product organizations.· Minimum of 2 years leading a multi-project portfolio.· At least 2 years’ experience managing managers.· Comprehensive knowledge of engineering disciplines: Product Management, Product Development, and Support.· Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with technical insight.· Proactive problem-solving and workflow optimization to prevent recurring issues.· Strong planning abilities, with flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies and business decisions.· Excellent communication skills, openness to diverse perspectives, and adaptability to changing conditions.· Decisiveness and a results-oriented mindset.· Commitment to empowering and supporting teams, fostering autonomy, trust, and professional growth.· Promoting a collaborative team culture conducive to effective communication and strong working relationships.Core Competencies· Exceptional Project Management capabilities.· Understanding of Agile and SaFE methodologies.· Previous experience in Tech Product or Engineering Management is advantageous.· Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across different regions.
