Director of Business Development

Position: Director / Associate Director | Business DevelopmentReporting to: SVPExperience: 6+ YearsKey ResponsibilitiesIdentify, evaluate, and onboard strategic distribution and embedded lending partners.Structure commercial models (revenue share, FLDG, co-lending, sourcing partnerships).Drive end-to-end partnership lifecycle – sourcing, negotiation, contracting, GTM, and scale-up.Collaborate with credit, product, and tech teams to integrate lending journeys.Monitor portfolio performance from partner-sourced channels.Negotiate commercial and legal frameworks in collaboration with compliance and legal teams.Present partnership strategy and performance insights to senior leadership.Identify new embedded finance opportunities across high-growth sectors (SME, Consumer, Supply Chain).Analyze partner data for optimization and credit performance improvement.Create scalable GTM playbooks for ecosystem expansion.Structure performance-linked incentive models for partners.Drive optimization initiatives to improve conversion and portfolio health.Ideal Profile6–10 years of experience in fintech, NBFC, digital lending, or embedded finance ecosystems.Demonstrated ownership of P&L, revenue targets, or portfolio growth metrics.Strong track record of closing and scaling strategic partnership alliances.Deep understanding of credit underwriting, risk frameworks, and RBI/NBFC regulatory guidelines.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to structure complex, win-win partnership models (revenue share, co-lending, risk-sharing, FLDG, etc.).Exposure to embedded finance/API-led integrations across digital platforms or marketplaces.Strong stakeholder management skills across internal teams (Credit, Risk, Legal, Tech, Ops) and external partners.Data-driven decision-making ability with comfort in analyzing portfolio performance and optimizing partner-level metrics.Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with strategic and execution capabilities.
