The Global Head of Data Platform will spearhead the evolution and consolidation of our group-wide cloud data ecosystem, driving a fundamental shift in how data enables strategic growth and competitive advantage. This role is central to building a unified, scalable, and future-ready data platform that empowers federated data product teams to operate with agility, autonomy, and measurable impact.As a senior executive leader, this individual will shape the long-term vision, define the transformation roadmap, and ensure strong alignment across business and technology stakeholders. The role demands both strategic foresight and hands-on leadership to translate platform capabilities into tangible business value.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive the enterprise-wide data platform strategy, ensuring it becomes a core enabler of innovation, operational excellence, and revenue growth.Lead the consolidation and modernization of legacy and fragmented platforms into a cohesive, scalable, and secure enterprise data ecosystem.Enable federated data product teams with a robust, developer-friendly platform that balances innovation freedom with enterprise standards, governance, and security controls.Align platform investments with evolving business priorities, ensuring an optimal balance between speed, scalability, compliance, and risk management.Build and nurture strong partnerships across engineering, architecture, data domain, and analytics teams to accelerate delivery of business-critical outcomes.Represent the group’s data platform strategy in strategic partnerships with global technology providers, influencing innovation direction and securing competitive advantage.Candidate Profile15+ years of experience leading large-scale data and cloud transformations within complex, multi-entity enterprise environments.Proven track record of building and operating enterprise data platforms as scalable products, driving adoption, reducing time-to-market, and delivering measurable business outcomes.Strong expertise in modern data product operating models, including reusability, lifecycle management, governance standards, and value measurement.Deep hands-on experience with GCP and BigQuery-centric architectures, including:Platform Capabilities:Data ingestion (ELT/ETL, CDC, streaming)Workflow orchestrationCloud storage and compute layersServing and consumption enablementTrust & Governance:Security and privacy frameworksPolicy-driven access controlMetadata management and lineage trackingData quality monitoring and enforcementObservability & Reliability:Monitoring, alerting, SLIs/SLOsIncident management and root-cause analysisContinuous improvement frameworksData Products & Marketplace Enablement:Product lifecycle managementOwnership and documentation standardsDiscoverability and self-service accessReusability and internal marketplace designOperational Excellence:Reliability engineering practicesAutomation and CI/CD pipelinesRelease and change managementCapacity planning and FinOps governanceStrong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and align diverse teams around a shared vision.Deep understanding of governance, compliance, and regulatory landscapes, with experience designing frameworks that balance trust, risk mitigation, and innovation speed.Telecom industry experience is advantageous, particularly in high-scale, privacy-sensitive, and mission-critical environments.
