About the jobJoin our research team as an experienced data analyst, delivering actionable data driven insights across diverse global shipping, trade, offshore, renewables and energy datasets. You will help us build and derive valuable data used widely to analyse impacts of market trends, geopolitics, and decarbonisation.What you’ll be doing: Use the latest data science tools and techniques for data processing, analysis and visualisationCollaborate with stakeholders for requirement gathering, plan project deliverables, and track implementation with analysts, data engineers and developersLead implementation of ETL and processing pipelines, data derivation and analysisWorking across teams, supporting clients and reporting progress to senior managementYou’ll need to have:6 years’ experience in data analytics working with complex data modelsExperience in updating stakeholders with project progress and supervising junior analysts, data engineers and developersExcellent demonstratable SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures and spatialWorking knowledge of Python, JSON and DAXAbility to deliver actionable insights clearly using visualisation tools such as Power BIStrong numerical, data handling and analytical skills in relation to complicated data models A degree in relevant numerate or analytical subjectGood organisational skills and strong attention to detailWe love to see:Curiosity and willingness to learn new techniques, programming languages and software toolsAppreciation of the wider data science technology landscape including DatabricksAny knowledge of the maritime, offshore oil and gas, or offshore renewable industriesAwareness of global trade, economics and statisticsWorking at Clarksons Research:Clarksons Research is the leading global provider of intelligence and research across shipping, trade, offshore and energy.
