Manufacturing Chemist

Location: Sirsa Experience level: 3-5 years in a Cosmetic, Personal Care, or Pharmaceutical manufacturing.Salary: 40-80k Job type: full time, on site About the role: We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Chemist who can bridge the gap between the R&D lab and the production floor. You will not just manage the line; you will own the product lifecycle from the initial lab sample to the final bulk production. You must be comfortable working with beakers in the lab and large-scale mixers on the factory floor.Key Responsibilities:•⁠ ⁠R&D & Formulation (20%): Develop and tweak cosmetic formulations (creams, lotions, serums, shampoos) in the lab to meet product briefs.•⁠ ⁠Formula Testing & QC (20%): Conduct stability tests (oven/freeze-thaw), viscosity checks, and pH testing. Ensure all raw materials meet quality standards before use.•⁠ ⁠Scale-Up Process (30%): Translate lab-scale formulas (100g) into production-scale batches (100kg+). Troubleshoot issues like separation, aeration, or viscosity changes during scaling.•⁠ ⁠Production Management (30%): Supervise the manufacturing floor, manage machine operators, ensure GMP compliance (ISO 22716), and maintain production schedules.•⁠ ⁠Regulatory Compliance: Maintain batch manufacturing records (BMR) and assist in State FDA audits.Required Qualifications:•⁠ ⁠Education: B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry, Cosmetic Technology, or B.Pharm.•⁠ ⁠Experience: Minimum 5 years in Cosmetic Manufacturing.•⁠ ⁠FDA Approval: Must be eligible to be added as a /"Competent Technical Staff/" (Manufacturing Chemist) on the State FDA Manufacturing License. [Note: This is crucial for India]•⁠ ⁠Technical Skills: Proficiency with Homogenizers, Filling Machines, pH meters, and Viscometers.•⁠ ⁠Soft Skills: Strong leadership to manage floor staff and the ability to work independently without a large R&D team.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmacy.
