Principal Software Engineer – FX Platforms (ION Wallstreet)

Job Title: Principal Software Engineer – FX Platforms (ION Wallstreet)Experience: 7+ YearsLocation: Gurugram, INJob Description:We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with deep functional and technical expertise in ION Wallstreet FX and ION’s latest FX platforms to lead the design, configuration, enhancement, and modernization of enterprise-grade FX trading solutions. This role requires strong ownership across platform configuration, upgrades, integrations, cloud deployment, and performance optimization, while working closely with FX business stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:- Lead configuration, customization, and implementation of ION Wallstreet FX and ION’s latest FX platform - Own application upgrades, version migrations, and regression stabilization for FX platforms - Design and develop Java-based UX/UI components aligned with trading and operations workflows - Build and maintain APIs and data integrations with upstream/downstream systems using middlewareIntegrate FX platforms with:- Core banking systems - Treasury & payments platforms - Market data providers - Reporting and reconciliation systems - Drive cloud hosting and deployment on AWS, including scalability and resiliency design - Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment - Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams - Partner with FX traders, operations, risk, and compliance teams to translate business needs into technical solutions - Ensure adherence to security, performance, and regulatory requirementsCore Functional Expertise Required- Hands-on experience with the following FX products and workflows: - FX Trading (Spot, Forwards, Swaps) - FX Currency Deposit Accounts - FX Confirmations - FX Statements & Reporting - Trade lifecycle management (capture → confirmation → settlement) - FX risk, P&L, and reconciliation processesTechnical Skills & Experience- ION Wallstreet FX – Advanced hands-on experience (mandatory) - ION FX – Latest Platform (strongly preferred) - Java (core backend development) - Java UX/UI frameworks - API development & integration (REST/SOAP) - Middleware integrations (e.g., MQ, ESB, event-driven architectures) - AWS Cloud (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, networking) - CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc.) - Strong understanding of data models, messaging, and integration patternsQualifications:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 10+ years of software engineering experience in Capital Markets / FX Technology - Proven experience leading enterprise FX platform implementations or upgrades - Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholdersCompany Profile:Stratacent is a Global IT consulting and Services firm, headquartered in Jersey City, NJ, USA with offices in UK, Canada, and South Africa and global capability centers (GCC) in Pune and Gurugram in India.
