The Assistant Professor is expected to be engaged in teaching, research /academic activity, and service with the latter being largely at the level of the program/academic unit2. Job Purpose3. Key AccountabilityAcademicResponsible to conduct lectures as per the assigned workloadAssist the Associate Professor, professor, HOS in developing the curriculumActive participation in academic and examination dutyConduct practical, tutorials as per the assigned scheduleResponsible for setting up question papersParticipate in organising seminars, conferences, workshops, FDP, etcUnderstand the skills that are relevant in the job market and provide insights to professors and HOSOrganize various training programs for the students to develop their soft skillsOrganise study tours for students to give the required exposure to the studentsResearch DevelopmentAn assistant professor is expected to show a high level of proficiency in researchResponsible to write research papersResponsible for publishing papers nationally / internationallyBe a co-investigator for writing research proposalsEncourage students to write research papersStrategicSupport in the execution of the strategic plan of theschoolOperationalParticipate in student-related activities such as NCC,student welfare, ASG,cultural and technical events, and counseling/ mentoring studentsActively participate during the admissions of students and counselResponsible to work closelywith the students on various projectsSupervise duringexaminationsActively be a partof organizing convocationAccompany thestudents for theRural immersion programs, study tours, yoga, internships, international toursResponsible to check the answer sheetsof the students and sharing theassessment with the seniors for further improvement in the studentsAddress the student issuesMaintain properrecord of studentsFinance and BudgetFollow the directives of the professors, HOS, and Deanto utilize the budget withinthe academic unit4. Person SpecificationDesired Qualification and ExperiencePreferably a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplinesMaster‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in a relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign universityPreferably should be NET OR SET OR SLET qualified as conducted by UGCA person without Ph.D. but having a Master’s Degree in a relevant branch/discipline can be considered based on their industry experience. The minimum relevant experience required is 0 to 5 yearsSubstantial leadership and management experienceA strong commitment to MIT-WPU and its vision, ambitions, and valuesPersonal attributes and styleShould possessexceptional communication skills(verbal and non-verbal)5.
