Product Merchandiser

Job Title: Product & Design MerchantFunctional Area: DesignExperience: 5-8 yearsPosition’s Objective:This role will primarily focus on driving follow ups, coordination, and tracking across multiple categories to ensure smooth and timely product development and sourcing.The role requires working closely with design, sourcing, and vendor teams to manage large SKU volumes and support execution across Soft Home and Hardgoods.Education Qualification: NIFT/Pearl/NID/GraduateDevelopment Coordination & Follow-ups:Soft Home (bedding, table linen, upholstery, curtains, floor coverings) and Hardgoods (tableware, décor, gifting)Drive regular follow ups with vendors on sampling, corrections, and timelinesEnsure samples are received, reviewed, and updated as per feedbackSupport the team in tracking product development across categories.Vendor CoordinationAct as a key point of contact for vendors for day to day follow-upsCoordinate with existing vendors and support onboarding of new vendors through fairs and market visitsTrack vendor commitments, timelines, and delaysTracking & Data ManagementMaintain detailed sampling trackers, development sheets, and SKU level entries in ExcelEnsure all updates are accurately recorded and shared with the teamHighlight delays, gaps, and risks proactivelyCraft Cluster UnderstandingBuild an understanding of craft clusters, their processes, and timelinesBe able to navigate logistical challenges or learn quickly on the jobCross-functional CoordinationWork closely with design, sourcing, buying, and quality teams for smooth executionEnsure alignment between internal teams and vendors Knowledge & Skills:5–8 years of experience in merchandising/product developmentStrong proficiency in Excel (trackers, data management)Ability to manage and track large volumes of SKUs across multiple categoriesStrong followup and coordination skillsBasic understanding of home products (textiles and/or hardgoods)Exposure to vendor coordination and development processesUnderstanding of or willingness to learn about craft clusters and decentralized production systemsExport background preferredHighly organized and detail orientedStrong followup and execution skillsGood communication and coordination skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks and timelines simultaneouslyProactive in identifying and preempting delays and driving closures
