Special Educator

Job Title:  Special Educator Location:  Sancta Maria International School, Faridabad Position Type:  Full-time Job Purpose To support and empower students with diverse learning needs by developing and implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), encouraging inclusive classroom practices, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and the school community to ensure the holistic development of every learner. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Identify, assess, and support students with learning differences, disabilities, or special needs. Design and deliver tailored learning interventions, both one-on-one and in small groups. Collaborate with subject teachers to adapt curriculum content, teaching methods, and classroom strategies to support inclusive education. Promote a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment that encourages student independence and confidence. Assessment & Reporting Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) with clear goals and strategies. Track student progress through formal and informal assessments. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, assessments, and student progress. Curriculum Development Support curriculum adaptation to address the needs of learners with diverse abilities. Integrate assistive technologies and differentiated instructional strategies where appropriate. Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote inclusivity and accessibility in learning. Pastoral & Administrative Duties Encourage positive relationships with students to support their emotional and social well-being. Work closely with parents to provide guidance, progress updates, and resources. Support school events, awareness programs, and activities related to inclusivity. Complete all administrative responsibilities, including reports and compliance documentation. Professional Development Stay updated with the latest developments, best practices, and tools in special education. Participate actively in school-led training, workshops, and external professional development opportunities. Provide training or guidance to colleagues to strengthen inclusive teaching practices across the school. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or equivalent qualification. RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) registration preferred. B.Ed in Special Education (desirable). Experience Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Special Educator in a school setting (international or progressive school experience preferred). Demonstrated ability to design and implement IEPs effectively. Experience working collaboratively with faculty, students, and parents. Skills & Attributes Empathy, patience, and adaptability in working with students of varied needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in using assistive technologies and inclusive teaching strategies. Commitment to fostering an inclusive school culture. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse faculty team.
