Role OverviewBTG Advaya is seeking a motivated Associate to join its White-Collar Crime & Investigations practice. The role involves assisting partners and senior lawyers in handling internal investigations, regulatory enforcement actions, and corporate criminal matters involving allegations of fraud, corruption, financial misconduct, and other economic offences. The Associate will work on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters requiring strong procedural understanding, document analysis, and investigation strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in conducting internal and regulatory investigations involving fraud, bribery, corruption, financial misconduct, sanctions issues and other corporate offences.Support investigation planning, including witness interviews, fact-finding, chronology building, and evidence review.Manage large volumes of documents using e-discovery and litigation support platforms such as Relativity and similar review tools.Prepare investigation memoranda, regulatory submissions, complaints, responses, and court filings.Assist in proceedings before enforcement and regulatory authorities including the ED, SFIO, CBI, SEBI and other investigative agencies.Conduct legal research on criminal procedure, corporate offences, and regulatory enforcement frameworks.Track global developments in anti-corruption, sanctions, economic offences, and compliance regimes to support client advisory.Coordinate with forensic experts, external counsel, and technology teams on investigations and document review exercises.Support preparation of internal investigation reports and risk-mitigation recommendations for clients.QualificationsLL.B. from a recognised university.2–5 years of relevant experience in white collar crime, investigations, disputes or regulatory enforcement.Experience assisting with internal investigations or regulatory proceedings preferred.Skills & AttributesStrong understanding of criminal procedure and investigative processes.Familiarity with e-discovery platforms (such as Relativity) and document review workflows.Excellent analytical, research and drafting skills.Ability to work with large datasets and complex factual matrices.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
