Responsibilities Design, develop, and test electronic circuits and PCBs for the robotic system Create detailed schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts using EDA software like KiCad Ensuring adherence to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles Select and qualify electronic components based on performance, cost, availability and environmental requirements Manage component libraries and Bills of Materials (BOMs) Build and troubleshoot PCB assemblies, performing hands-on testing and debugging using standard lab equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration and interface compatibility Develop and execute hardware verification and validation test plans Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including design specifications, schematics, layout files, BOMs, and test reports Work with PCB manufacturers and assembly houses to ensure designs are fabricated and assembled to specifications Requirements and skills 1+ years of hands-on experience in schematic drawing, electronics design and PCB development with a degree in electronics engineering Demonstrated proficiency in using KiCad for schematic capture, PCB layout, and library management. A portfolio of completed KiCad projects is highly desirable Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design, including op-amps, filters, power supplies, and logic circuits Experience with microcontroller-based systems (ARM, AVR, ESP32) Experience with low-power design and battery-operated systems Hands-on experience with prototyping and debugging electronic hardware Familiarity with standard communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and Ethernet Ability to read and interpret datasheets and technical documents Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (CE, FCC, RoHS) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail Desirable skills Experience with circuit simulation using SPICE (ngspice integrated within KiCad) Experience with NXP and/or NVIDIA Orin platforms Familiarity with other EDA tools (Altium, Eagle, Orcad) is a plus Basic programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems or Python for scripting and automation Knowledge of RF design principles and layout considerations Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, for managing design files If you're ready to bring your passion for robotics to the forefront of innovation, we encourage you to apply and be a driving force in shaping the future of robotics.
