Role & responsibilities P&L Ownership:Take full responsibility for the Profit & Loss statement of the assigned category. Assortment Planning:Decide which products to add, keep, or remove based on market trends and customer demand. Strategy Development:Create long-term plans to outshine competitors and capture market share. Competitive Pricing:Monitor competitor prices daily and adjust your own to stay competitive while maintaining margins. Promotional Calendars:Plan and execute seasonal sales, "deal of the day" events, and bundle offers. Markdown Management:Strategically lower prices for slow-moving stock to clear inventory without heavy losses. Vendor Relations:Negotiate better terms, pricing, and exclusive product launches with vendors. Cross-functional Collaboration:Work withMarketing(for ads),IT(for site layout), andSupply Chain(to ensure stock availability). Product Listings:Ensure high-quality images, accurate descriptions, and SEO-optimised titles. Discoverability:Collaborate with SEO/SEM teams to ensure products rank high in search results.Key Skills Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Data analysis and interpretation skills Project management and organizational skillsPreferred candidate profile 3-7 years of experience in retail, buying, or e-commerce.
