Technical Lead – Ruby on Rails & React

We are onboarding a Senior Technical Leader with strong enterprise experience to elevate engineering quality across our React and Ruby on Rails ecosystem. This is not a single-project role—you will function as a Quality Architect, driving consistency, scalability, and best practices across multiple codebases while mentoring developers and setting technical direction.In addition to architectural oversight, you will remain hands-on, contributing to the design, development, testing, and deployment of modern, scalable web applications within a fully remote team.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a Quality Architect across all React and Ruby on Rails projects, auditing codebases and enforcing engineering standardsLead by example through hands-on development using Ruby on Rails (latest version) and modern frontend practicesMentor and guide developers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and best-practice adoptionDesign, build, and maintain scalable web applications in a Dockerized environmentEnsure high code quality through comprehensive test coverage using Capybara, Selenium, and MinitestCollaborate with cross-functional teams in a monthly sprint cadence, managed via NotionOversee version control, branching strategies, and pull-request workflows on GitHubContribute to system architecture, performance tuning, and security best practicesLeverage cloud services such as AWS (S3, SQS, CloudWatch)Troubleshoot, debug, refactor, and modernize existing systemsSupport integrations with third-party services, including OpenAI where applicableTechnical EnvironmentRuby on Rails (latest version)PostgreSQLReact, StimulusJSDocker (local and deployment workflows)Capybara, Selenium, MinitestAWS (S3, SQS, CloudWatch)GitHubRequirements8+ years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails developmentProven experience in a senior or technical leadership role (Tech Lead, Architect, or equivalent)Strong understanding of web application architecture, scalability, and performance optimizationHands-on experience with React and modern frontend developmentAdvanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and backend system designProficiency in Dockerized development environmentsStrong experience writing and maintaining automated test suitesFamiliarity with HTML, JavaScript, StimulusJS, and ERBExperience working in Agile/remote teams, using tools such as JiraExposure to cloud infrastructure, preferably AWSExcellent communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills
