The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Australian accounting firms and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, particularly in financial reporting and tax compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review Australian tax returns for companies, trusts, and individualsHandle business financials and tax filings across complex entity structuresManage inter-group transactions and relationships across multiple entitiesWork on Division 7A compliance and reportingPrepare draft financial statements with clear assumptions and adjustmentsHandle Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations for businesses, investment properties, and asset disposalsPerform bookkeeping tasks including payroll, BAS, and reconciliations using XeroReview junior accountants’ work (tax returns, financials, reconciliations)Independently manage workflows and meet deadlines with high accuracyKey RequirementsMinimum 4+ years of experience with Australian accounting and taxationStrong experience in Australian tax returns (companies, trusts, individuals)Proficiency in Xero, BAS, payroll, and bookkeepingSolid understanding of Division 7A and CGTExperience handling multi-entity/group structures and intercompany transactionsHigh attention to detail with strong self-reviewing habitsAbility to work independently and take full ownership of tasksExcellent English communication skills (written and verbal)What We’re Looking ForCandidates who prioritize accuracy over speedStrong problem-solving ability and accountabilityAbility to adapt to feedback and improve processesExperience reviewing and mentoring junior team members
