Job Summary: The Lab Instructor is responsible for overseeing and conducting laboratory sessions, ensuring the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment, and supporting students in their practical learning. The role requires strong technical expertise in biotechnology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide and mentor students. Key Responsibilities: Conduct Laboratory Sessions: Plan, organize, and conduct laboratory experiments. Demonstrate Techniques: Provide clear and accurate demonstrations of laboratory procedures and techniques, ensuring students understand the theoretical and practical aspects. Supervise Students: Oversee student activities in the lab, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper use of equipment. Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition. Prepare Materials: Set up laboratory experiments, including the preparation of reagents, media, and other materials required for practical sessions. Evaluate Performance: Assist in the assessment of student performance in lab activities, providing feedback and guidance to improve their skills. Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and protocols in the lab, conducting safety briefings and training as needed. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of lab supplies and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and restocking. Collaborate with Faculty: Work closely with faculty members to align lab activities with course objectives and curriculum requirements. Support Research Activities: Assist in research projects and experiments as needed, providing technical support and expertise. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of lab activities, including attendance, experiment results, and equipment usage. Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in ECE / EEE / E & I. Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an academic environment. Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques is highly desirable. Skills: Strong technical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.
