Director of Compliance

Job Title: Senior Director – ComplianceFunction: FinanceLocation: Coimbatore, IndiaReporting to: VP & Head – Internal Audit & Risk Management (future transition to Legal)Role Purpose:The Senior Director – Compliance will serve as the organization’s primary authority on compliance, working closely with the VP – IA & RM and the Legal Head. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously strengthening a proactive and preventative compliance framework to ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements while upholding the highest ethical standards across the organization.Key Responsibilities:- Lead enterprise-wide compliance identification, assessment, training, and assurance activities. - Monitor regulatory changes and adapt compliance programs, policies, SOPs, and controls accordingly. - Develop and maintain compliance dashboards, reports, KPIs, and working papers for senior management, Audit Committee, and regulators. - Oversee compliance audits, investigations, and remediation actions, including root cause analysis and process improvements. - Design and execute an integrated compliance risk management framework. - Collaborate closely with Legal, Internal Audit, business leaders, external auditors, and specialist firms. - Foster a strong culture of compliance through training, awareness, and governance discipline. - Build and develop compliance talent, competency frameworks, and succession planning.Key Stakeholders:- Senior Management, Audit Committee, Department Heads - Compliance leadership team - External auditors, legal firms, and regulatory specialistsCompetencies:- Regulatory Compliance (Expert) - Process Improvement & Financial Oversight - Strategic Thinking, Leadership, Collaboration, Results Orientation - Strong stakeholder management and global business acumenQualifications & Experience:- Professional qualification in Law, Compliance, or related field; compliance certification preferred - 15+ years in compliance, including 5+ years in leadership roles - Experience in large MNCs with global exposure (USA/Europe preferred), ideally in manufacturing - Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, data privacy (e.g., GDPR), and governance practices - Proven experience presenting to senior leadership / C-suite - Willingness to travel between Bangalore and Coimbatore
