Job Description:
The Economics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality and engaging learning experiences in Economics across multiple curricula – IBDP, Cambridge (IGCSE and AS/A Levels) or CBSE. The role requires deep conceptual understanding, pedagogical expertise and the ability to integrate global economic perspectives with real-world applications. The teacher will nurture critical thinking, inquiry and analytical skills, aligning with the international standards and learner profile values of TIPS Globeducate. Job Responsibilities include but not limited to: Plan, prepare and deliver structured and well-sequenced lessons for IBDP, IGCSE, AS/A Level (or) CBSE Economics programmes. Integrate differentiated teaching methods to address diverse learning abilities and styles. Ensure alignment with curriculum frameworks, assessment standards and institutional benchmarks. Use inquiry-based learning and case studies to develop economic reasoning, data interpretation and policy analysis skills. Integrate cross-disciplinary links with Mathematics, Business Studies and Global Politics where relevant. Design and implement formative and summative assessments consistent with IB, Cambridge or CBSE standards. Maintain accurate and timely student records, grades, and progress reports. Provide constructive feedback and individualized academic support to students. Guide students in extended essays, internal assessments and project-based economic research (for IBDP/AS-A levels). Facilitate peer-learning, debates and classroom simulations like economic forums, budget discussions and model UN sessions. Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom that promotes curiosity, open-mindedness and respect for diverse perspectives. Encourage inquiry, discussion and collaborative learning among students. Integrate technology tools (data analysis software, simulations, online resources) to enhance conceptual learning. Support the development of global awareness and ethical economic decision-making. Collaborate with academic coordinators and department heads in designing yearly teaching plans and unit planners. Align lesson plans with global teaching objectives of TIPS Globeducate and ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum articulation. Participate in moderation sessions, inter-school collaboration and quality assurance processes. Contribute to developing teaching resources, model question papers and enrichment materials. Uphold the mission and academic philosophy of TIPS Globeducate in fostering holistic education. Participate in academic reviews, audits and curriculum enhancement initiatives. Attend parent–teacher meetings, orientation sessions and academic committees. Mentor students participating in economics-related competitions, Olympiads and research fairs. Maintain decorum, discipline and ethical standards in classroom and institutional conduct. Engage in professional training, IB/Cambridge workshops and pedagogical development sessions. Stay updated with global and national economic trends, education methodologies and curriculum reforms. Share best teaching practices within the department and contribute to institutional learning communities. Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Economics (mandatory). B.Ed. (or) equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory for CBSE). IB/Cambridge certified training preferred. Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in Economics at Secondary and Senior Secondary levels. Prior experience in handling IBDP / IGCSE / AS-A Level preferred. Proven record of student achievement and effective teaching outcomes.
