Ltd.Position: Medical Interpretation Assistant Location: Chennai, Tamil NaduExperience: 0–3 years (Freshers welcome!)Education: Any GraduateJapanese Proficiency: C-JAT III / JLPT N3 or higherGender: Open to allKey ResponsibilitiesInterpretation & Patient Support• Provide accurate in-person Japanese–English–Local Language interpretation during hospital and clinic visits.• Facilitate clear communication between patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring full understanding of medical conditions, diagnoses and treatment plans.• Assist patients in navigating the hospital/clinic process including registration, appointments, billing and follow-ups.• Support patients with understanding prescriptions, test results, and other medical instructions.Medical Coordination & Administration• Coordinate medical appointments, follow-ups, and testing schedules in collaboration with hospitals, clinics and internal supervisors.• Arrange collection of medicines and medical reports, and ensure timely delivery.• Maintain clear and accurate records of patient visits and interpretation services rendered.• Perform follow-up calls and assist with documentation and administrative tasks as required.Team & Cultural Engagement• Act as a cultural liaison to help patients feel respected, safe, and understood throughout their healthcare journey.• Participate in internal meetings and training sessions to enhance medical terminology knowledge and interpretation skills.• Collaborate effectively with team members, interpreters, and administrative staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.Emergency Response• In case of emergencies outside regular working hours, the candidate is expected to promptly support patients and accompany them to the hospital's emergency department, providing necessary interpretation and coordination services.Requirements:• Proficiency in Japanese and English; knowledge of a local language is an advantage.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to handle sensitive medical information with confidentiality and professionalism.• Prior experience in medical interpretation or healthcare settings is a plus.• Willingness to travel within Chennai for hospital/clinic visits.• Flexibility to respond to emergency calls during non-working hours.Walk-in Details:Time: 10:30 AM to 4:00 PMDate: Tuesday, 20th January, 2026Venue: Hayakawa Japanese Language School & Cultural CenterEntry: Free & open to all (Registration required)Register by: 18 January 2026How to Apply1.
