Merchandiser

Position Title: Jr. Merchandiser / Merchandiser / Sr. Merchandiser Department: Merchandising Location: Chennai Reporting To: Merchandising Manager Work Arrangement: Onsite Role Overview The Merchandiser will be responsible for managing the end-to-end merchandising process in woven garments, acting as the key link between buyers, suppliers, and the production team. The role demands strong coordination, costing knowledge, and the ability to deliver products that meet buyer specifications, quality standards, and timelines. Key Responsibilities Working with Design team for seasonal collection as per respective customer requirement. Sample development, Price Negotiation & Order confirmation with respective buyers. Material Order process as per timeline, working on improving budget & costs. Exceptional attention to detail, independent worker, ability to adapt to changing environments & challenges. Experience in handling small & high value business Strong & clear Communication with customers, vendors and with internal teams. Experience in Technical knowhow of Woven Garment manufacturing of different categories like Shirts, Jacket, Bottoms etc. Excellent Leadership/management experience. Demonstrate a high level of ownership and commitment to all job responsibilities for result-driven achievements. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Textiles / Apparel Merchandising / Fashion Technology or equivalent. 1 – 8 years of experience as a Merchandiser in a woven garment factory (buyer handling experience preferred). Strong understanding of woven fabrics, garment construction, costing, and production processes. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/MIS systems. Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and meet strict deadlines. Note: We are looking only for candidates who are from the "woven" garment manufacturing units based out of Chennai. Candidates from Knit based units may skip this opportunity.
