House of Shipping's commitment to their customers begins with developing an understanding of their business fundamentals.Currently House of Shipping is looking to identify a high caliber Analyst - CP Data Management on behalf of its client global bulk shipping company.Job purposeThe Analyst – CP Data Management will be responsible for accurately managing and maintaining Charter Party (CP) data across voyage, time, and COA contracts. The role ensures all contractual terms, laytime clauses, and operational conditions are correctly captured, validated, and integrated into company systems for effective voyage execution, risk mitigation, and claims management. This position provides critical support to chartering, operations, finance, and legal teams, ensuring smooth contract administration in the dry bulk shipping industry. This role essentially ensures contractual accuracy, risk mitigation, and smooth voyage execution by being the backbone of CP-related data flow.Main tasks and responsibilities.1. CP Documentation & Data Entry•Review Charter Party agreements (voyage, time charter, COA) to extract key commercial, operational, and legal terms.•Accurately input CP data into shipping systems (e.g., Veson IMOS, Q88, or in-house ERP).•Ensure consistency between CP contracts, fixtures, and voyage instructions.2. Data Validation & Compliance•Verify accuracy of CP terms with fixture recap and broker confirmations.•Highlight discrepancies, risks, or missing clauses to operations/chartering teams.•Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and CP clauses.3. Laytime & Demurrage Support•Capture and validate laytime clauses (e.g., WWDSHEXUU, NOR requirements, shifting time).•Support laytime calculations by providing accurate CP data for voyage analysts and claims specialists.•Maintain records for demurrage and despatch claims in line with contractual terms.4. Operational & Commercial Coordination•Work closely with Chartering, Operations, and Claims teams to ensure CP data aligns with voyage execution.•Provide CP-related insights to finance for invoicing, P&L forecasting, and cost control.•Assist legal teams in evidence gathering for disputes/arbitrations.5. Data Analytics & Reporting•Maintain and update the CP database for benchmarking and trend analysis.•Generate reports on CP clauses (e.g., laytime terms, demurrage trends, recurring exceptions).•Identify risks and opportunities for negotiation in future contracts.6. Record Keeping & Audit Support•Ensure complete documentation of CPs, amendments, addenda, and related correspondence.•Provide accurate records for internal audits, compliance reviews, and dispute resolution.Education requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping Management, International Trade, Logistics, Commerce, Law or Economics. - Professional qualifications such as Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) certifications (Chartering, Dry Cargo, Legal Principles in Shipping) or specialized courses in Chartering / Laytime & Demurrage.Language requirements; Verbal & Written English proficiencyBackground and experience:•6 years’ experience in dry bulk chartering, operations, or claims handling with a reputed ship owner, operator, or broker.•Strong understanding of charter party terms (Voyage, Time, COA) and common CP contract types and clauses.•(Familiarity with charter party contracts (voyage, time charter, COA). => Can be deleted•Exposure to CP-related systems such as NextVoyage, Veson IMOS, Q88, or similar.•Up-to-date on market practices and common port issues in key dry bulk regions.•Aware of cultural nuances in global shipping negotiations.Skills•Proficient in Voyage Management Software (preferably NextVoyage owise Veson IMOS, Q88, or similar) and Excel.•Skilled in interpreting CP clauses, Statement of Facts, port logs, and other operational documentation.•Accuracy-focused — able to spot errors in contracts or operational data quickly.•Strong understanding of CP clauses, laytime concepts, and shipping contracts.•Proficiency in Excel and CP management software.Core Competency• Integrity & Accountability: Uphold commitments, be trustworthy and reliable and work ethically.• Customer Focus: Understand customer need, respond in timely fashion.• Agility: Adapt to change and prioritize efficiently.• Continuous learning: Self Development and application of new knowledge.• Collaboration and Communication: Transparency, use two way communication.
