Mainframe Automation Specialist

Job Title: Mainframe Automation Specialist Experience Required: 8–10 years Location: Chennai Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Automation Specialist with strong expertise in automating mainframe operations, monitoring, and batch processes. The role requires in-depth knowledge of automation tools and the ability to design, implement, and support automation solutions that improve system reliability, efficiency, and performance. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain automation scripts and jobs on mainframe environments. Work with automation tools such as CA OPS/MVS, REXX, IBM System Automation, Control-M, JCL, and CLIST . Troubleshoot automation-related issues and provide root cause analysis. Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and application teams to integrate automation solutions. Develop best practices and reusable automation frameworks for mainframe operations. Monitor system performance and implement proactive automation to reduce manual interventions. Document automation processes, configurations, and standards. Required Skills & Qualifications 8–10 years of hands-on experience in mainframe operations and automation. Strong programming/scripting skills in REXX, JCL, and CLIST . Experience with automation tools such as CA OPS/MVS, IBM System Automation, or equivalent . Knowledge of mainframe systems: z/OS, DB2, CICS, IMS, MQ . Good understanding of scheduling tools like Control-M, CA7, or Tivoli . Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Good to Have Experience with DevOps and modern automation practices. Knowledge of cloud or hybrid mainframe environments. Exposure to ITIL processes.
