Duties and Responsibilities Conceptualize and develop innovative menus, keeping abreast of culinary trends and customer preferences. Create seasonal menus, adapting to the availability and freshness of ingredients. Lead and manage kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and support staff. Provide training, mentorship, and skill development for kitchen team members. Maintain high culinary standards, ensuring the quality and consistency of dishes. Regularly taste-test dishes to ensure flavor profiles meet expectations. Create and refine recipes, introducing new flavors and techniques. Oversee the artistic presentation of dishes, ensuring they are visually appealing. Source and select quality ingredients from suppliers. Manage inventory levels efficiently to control costs while minimizing waste. Determine menu prices, considering ingredient costs, preparation time, and desired profit margins. Regularly analyze the financial performance of menu items. Enforce and uphold strict hygiene and sanitation standards in the kitchen. Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and efficient service. Work with event planners to coordinate and execute culinary aspects of special events. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines. Maintain necessary licenses and certifications for the kitchen. Interact with customers to gather feedback on dishes and dining experiences. Adapt menus based on customer preferences and feedback.
