Power Electronics Design Engineer

Company Brief Planys Technologies is an IIT Madras incubated start-up company that provides immersed robotic inspection and survey solutions using indigenously manufactured submersible remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). Founders of the company are recent IIT Madras Alumni and faculty from Mechanical Engineering. Planys Technologies aims to cover the whole breadth of automated inspection solutions starting from customized design and fabrication of robotic platforms to integrated sensing and diagnostics. Planys's technology spans under the domain of marine robotics combining various inspection techniques and post-inspection analysis tools. (Website: Roles & Responsibilities : Design and development of hardware architecture for embedded, power electronics, and communication systems Circuit Simulation, Thermal Analysis, PCB Design (using ECAD tools such as Fusion 360 preferred) Firmware development for AVR & ARM microcontrollers (Arduino IDE, Microchip Studio, Python, C++) Product development tasks : Market survey, BOM preparation, reports, manuals, vendor management Hands-on work in soldering, testing, and troubleshooting OEM hardware (Through-hole & SMD packages) Electronic component testing using DSO, LCR meter, Multimeter, Megger, etc. Adherence to 5S, safety protocols, and systematic laboratory practices Strong knowledge of semiconductors, communication protocols, and electronics Expertise in Power Converters, Motor Drivers, Embedded MCUs (AVR, ARM) Familiarity with Circuit Simulation Tools (Proteus, Texas Workbench, Ansys preferred) Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for documentation and reporting Excellent verbal & written communication skills Qualification & Experience  BE/B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Embedded Systems/Equivalent Minimum 1+ year experience in hardware design engineering (Embedded or Power Electronics domain) Hands-on experience with PCB design, testing, and debugging is mandatory
