Common Tasks and Duties The day-to-day tasks of a Quantity Surveyor are diverse and challenging, encompassing several aspects of construction costs: Preparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client. Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work. Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies. Performing risk, value management, and cost control during construction. Providing advice on contractual claims and disputes. Tracking changes to the design and/or construction work, and adjusting budget projections accordingly. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
