Namaste The DAV Group - Chennai , functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country. In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai. In this context, we would be interested in recruiting suitable candidates for the position of Assistant Manager - Accounts for DAV Head office at chennai. Job Description The main responsibilities of assistant manager include (but are not restricted to) : Accounting (Both payable and receivable): The assistant manager manages the accounts payable and receivable. They process invoices, issue payments, and track outstanding balances. Payroll: The assistant manager is responsible for processing payroll for all employees. This includes calculating wages, taxes, and other deductions, and ensuring that payments are made on time. Compliance: The assistant manager ensures that there is compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws. This includes monitoring changes to regulations and adjusting financial practices accordingly. Audit preparation: The assistant manager prepares for audits by ensuring that all financial records and reports are up-to-date and accurate. Budgeting: The assistant manager is responsible for developing and managing the budget. They work closely with the COO and Manager - Accounts to create a budget that meets the institution's needs. Financial Analysis/ reporting: The assistant manager does financial analysis and prepares financial reports and statements that provide a clear picture of the financial health. They also ensure that all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations. Overall, the assistant manager plays a critical role in ensuring that the financial operations run smoothly and effectively. They must have a strong understanding of financial management principles and practices, as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills. They should also have strong communication skills, as they will work closely with Institution's Management, administrators, faculty, and staff on financial matters Requisites Accounts Degree. Proficient in Tally, Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Office Tools. Knowledge of Statutory laws, as applicable to the Institution Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Accountant; preferably at Schools or Audit firms Job Type: Full-time Pay: 45K CTC/ month onwards Compensation will commensurate with experience & calibre
