Job Description

Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Oversight of Fleet Operations  Oversee operations and performance of vessels based under the Singapore subsidiary, in close coordination with local ship managers and chartering stakeholders.  Supervise the operations of existing barges and those under construction in India, including maintenance, port operations, and inland logistics interface. 2. Regulatory and Safety Compliance Across Jurisdictions  Ensure compliance with Singapore Maritime and Port Authority (MPA), flag state, classification society, and IMO standards for international vessel/tanker operations.  Oversee adherence to DG Shipping, ISPS, state maritime boards, and environmental norms for Indian barge operations.  Lead implementation of ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, OCIMF, and manage SIRE inspection preparedness. 3. Technical & Maintenance Oversight  Coordinate with third-party technical managers or lead internal teams for dry-docking, planned maintenance, repairs, and hull/machinery performance optimization.  Implement systems for machinery uptime monitoring, bunker efficiency, and spare part control. 4. Commercial and Voyage Performance  Provide technical and operational support to the chartering team, including voyage planning, laytime analysis, and demurrage handling.  Evaluate cost-efficiency metrics across voyages and asset classes. 5. Budgeting and Financial Controls  Prepare and track vessel-level OPEX, dry-docking budgets, and insurance costs, in coordination with Indian and Singaporean finance teams.  Ensure budget adherence and cost control across both operations. 6. Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination  Lead cross-functional and cross-border teams operating from India and Singapore.  Build relationships with classification societies, technical consultants, MPA, DG Shipping, ports, and crewing partners. 7. Vessel Acquisition & Expansion Strategy  Play a lead role in evaluating new vessel acquisition opportunities, including: • Technical due diligence and vetting of secondhand / newbuild vessels • Participation in inspection, negotiation, and delivery process • Liaising with shipbrokers, legal advisors, and financial partners  Provide operational insight for shipyard selection, vessel specification finalization, and warranty negotiation.  Ensure seamless integration of acquired vessels into the Company’s operations and compliance systems. Qualifications & Experience  Master Mariner (FG) or Chief Engineer with valid CoC preferred; alternatively, senior marine executive with relevant operations background.  15–20 years of experience in shipping operations, including significant exposure to chemical tanker management and international fleet operations.  Experience handling dual regulatory regimes (India and Singapore) will be a strong advantage.
