Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Title: QA Engineer - Manual /Automation Job Type: Full-time Location: Coimbatore Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Manual Tester to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a passion for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications. As a Manual Tester, you will be responsible for executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with the development team to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. What you'll do? Responsibilities: Test Planning:Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project specifications.Define test objectives, scope, and success criteria. Test Execution:Execute test cases manually to verify the functionality, usability, and performance of software applications.Record and document test results, including defects and issues.Perform regression testing to ensure that defects are fixed and new features do not introduce new issues. Conduct exploratory testing to uncover unexpected issues. Defect Management:Report defects and issues using a standardized defect tracking system.Work closely with the development team to facilitate the resolution of defects.Verify and validate fixes and ensure they are properly documented. Documentation:Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.Keep test documentation up-to-date as project requirements evolve. Test Environment Setup:Prepare and configure test environments, ensuring they mirror production as closely as possible. Collaboration:Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other team members to ensure effective communication and understanding of project requirements. Continuous Improvement:Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging testing techniques. Contribute to process improvements and the development of testing best practices within the organization. What are we looking for? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a Manual Tester or Quality Assurance Analyst. Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices. Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, etc.). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and a strong problem-solving mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ISTQB or similar certification is a plus.
