JOB POSTING: VP - HR Tube Investments of India Limited is India’s premier engineering company, operating in Mobility, Engineering, Metal Formed Products and Other segments. Headquartered in Chennai, the Subsidiaries of the Company include CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd., Shanthi Gears Ltd., Sedis (France), TI Clean Mobility Pvt. The Company clocked a consolidated turnover of Rs.19,386 Crores during FY24-25. Tube Investments of India Ltd. is part of the INR 778 billion (77,881 Crores) Murugappa Group. We are in the process of identifying a VP - HR who could play the role of a strategic business partner , culture architect , and industrial relations guardian , while also being a digital HR innovator —someone who can seamlessly connect the traditional engineering/manufacturing DNA of the group with its new-age businesses in to EV and other sectors. Key Outcomes Expected from the ROLE: 1. Strategic HR Leadership: Establish and execute a group-wide HR vision aligned to the conglomerate’s business strategy and multi-sectoral growth ambitions. Build a future-ready workforce to support diversification into EV, pharma, healthcare, and next-gen manufacturing. 2. Talent Acquisition & Leadership Pipeline: Develop a robust talent pipeline for CXO and BU leadership roles across businesses. Implement best-in-class talent acquisition and retention practices, especially for critical skills in engineering, R&D, pharma sciences, and EV technology. 3. Organization Design & Culture Building: Create an agile organizational structure that allows synergies across businesses while respecting BU autonomy. Drive a common culture of ethics, innovation, and performance across diverse business verticals. 4. Digital HR Transformation: Lead digitization of HR systems (HRMS, AI-driven talent analytics, workforce planning). Enable data-driven decision-making across the group. 5. Employee Engagement & Employer Branding: Ensure high employee engagement scores across all businesses. Position the conglomerate as an “Employer of Choice” in India and globally. 6. Capability Building & Future Skills: Establish corporate academies/university for leadership, technical upskilling, and cross-sector mobility. Drive reskilling initiatives in areas like EV technologies, digital manufacturing, healthcare compliance, and global pharma standards. 7. Industrial Relations & Compliance: Maintain harmonious relations across large blue-collar manufacturing setups . Ensure compliance with Indian and global labour laws, including healthcare/pharma regulatory HR frameworks. 8. Diversity, Inclusion & Sustainability: Drive DEI programs with measurable outcomes. Integrate sustainability into HR practices (green workplaces, workforce well-being, social responsibility). 9. Compensation & Performance Management: Design a unified yet flexible rewards and performance framework . Benchmark compensation across industries to attract global talent. 10. Crisis Management & Workforce Resilience: Build systems for business continuity (pandemics, global disruptions, talent shortages). Ensure employee wellness, safety, and resilience programs. Core Competencies Required : 1. Strategic & Business Competencies * Ability to align HR strategy with multi-sector business growth . * Strong understanding of manufacturing, automotive, pharma/medical regulations, and EV ecosystems . * M&A integration expertise (post-acquisition culture, workforce integration). 2. Leadership & People Competencies * Inspirational leadership and board-level influence . * Cross-cultural management (global partnerships, expatriates, multi-location workforce). *Building leadership pipelines and succession planning at scale. 3. Technical & Functional HR Competencies * Expertise in industrial relations , especially in South India’s labour ecosystem. * Deep knowledge of global pharma compliance (USFDA, EMA, etc.) from an HR lens. * HR analytics, digital HR platforms, AI-driven talent management. *Experience in setting up R&D HR practices (EV tech, pharma research, healthcare) 4. Personal Competencies * Strong ethical grounding and values-driven leadership . * Agility to manage both traditional businesses and next-gen digital sectors . * High resilience and change leadership capability.
