Job Description:
Position / Business Accountability: At the micro level the role involves: Business Development & Pipeline Growth: Identify and prospect potential corporate clients—including large enterprises and SMEs—across India. Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and strategy. Needs Assessment & Risk Analysis: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, understand clients’ business and insurance needs, and identify gaps in existing coverage. Solution Design & Proposals: Develop and present insurance broking proposals—covering fire, marine, engineering, cyber, liability, employee benefits, and more. Collaborate with underwriters to negotiate optimal coverage and premiums on behalf of clients. Negotiation & Deal Closure: Engage with corporate decision-makers to finalize agreements—ensuring favorable terms and meeting contract KPIs and revenue objectives. Relationship Management & Retention: Serve as the primary contact for corporate clients. Provide advisory services including renewals, claims support and upsell opportunities. Maintain high satisfaction levels and foster long-term engagement. Market Research & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor insurance industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor behavior to adjust sales approaches and identify growth opportunities. Reporting & Sales Analytics: Track performance against sales KPIs and revenue forecasts. Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and market analysis for senior management. Desirable Competencies: Established corporate client network and industry contacts. Track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and closing large accounts. Ability to mentor junior team members and lead through influence. Familiarity with financial/broking software and sales analytics tools. Willingness to travel for client engagement and expansion activities. Professional Experience • 5–15 years of experience in corporate insurance sales or broking. • Demonstrated understanding of broking dynamics, underwriting collaborations, and domain expertise across general insurance lines. Qualifications & Experience: Educational Background: Any bachelor’s degree or equivalent. MBA or advanced certifications (e.g. AIII, FIAI, CII, CPCU) preferred.
