Job Description – Senior Quality Control ChemistJob Title Senior Quality Control Chemist –Unsaturated Polyester Resin ManufacturingLocation SIDCO Industrial Estate, Thirumazhisai, ChennaiRole Overview TheSenior Quality Control Chemistwill be responsible for leading and managing the quality control function in ourUnsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR) manufacturing unit . The role ensures that all raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products consistently meet the required quality standards through rigorous testing, documentation, and compliance practices.In addition to core QC responsibilities, the candidate will play a key role in thenew plant expansion projectby collaborating with project, production, and environmental consultants. The chemist will contribute technical data, product specifications, and process documentation required for statutory approvals and environmental clearances.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control (Primary Role)Raw Material Testing:Conduct routine analysis of all incoming raw materials as per standard specifications and maintain accurate records. In-Process & Finished Product Testing:Verify and approve resin properties at all stages, including granting final QC clearance before dispatch. Technical Documentation:Prepare and periodically updateTechnical Data Sheets (TDS)andMaterial Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)for all product grades. Competitor Analysis:Periodically evaluate competitor resin samples and maintain comparative quality benchmarks. Laboratory Management:Oversee calibration, upkeep, and efficient functioning of all QC laboratory instruments and equipment. Product Development Support:Assist R&D in developing new resin grades and improving existing formulations. COA & Record Keeping:IssueCertificates of Analysis (COA)for all shipments and maintain comprehensive QC documentation. Trial Batches:Conduct laboratory/pilot trials aimed at quality enhancement and cost optimization. Reporting:SubmitMIS reportsto management, covering quality performance, deviations, corrective actions, and continuous improvements.Expansion Project Team RoleAct as acore memberof the new plant expansion project for manufacturingUnsaturated Polyester Resin , providing present and proposed product details to theEIA/Environmental Consultant . Collaborate with project, production, and consultant teams to design, standardize, and align QC systems with expansion project requirements. Prepare, compile, and submit raw material compositions, finished product specifications, and process details to the Environmental Consultant for statutory and regulatory approvals. Ensure timely coordination and accurate documentation to supportEnvironmental Clearance (EC) ,EIA submissions , and other compliance requirements. Work closely with the Production team to finalize and document proposed production capacities and resin grades for approval and reporting purposes.Preferred Qualifications & ExperienceEducation:MSc in Chemistry Experience:Minimum5–8 yearsin Quality Control within chemical/polymer/resin manufacturing. Strong knowledge oftesting methods, QC protocols, and documentation practices .
