Job Title: Business Unit Head – Solar EPC Location: Bhubaneswar Department: Solar EPC Division Position Overview The BU Head – Solar EPC will be responsible for leading the Solar EPC business unit, overseeing all activities from tendering to project completion. The role focuses entirely on EPC operations — ensuring projects are executed within time, budget, and quality parameters, while leading a team of Segment Managers and Project Managers to deliver excellence. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic & Operational Leadership Lead and manage the Solar EPC business unit in line with company goals and strategic direction. Prepare annual operational plans, budgets, and manpower/resource allocation for all EPC projects. 2. Tendering & Estimation Oversee preparation, review, and submission of EPC tenders and bids. Evaluate technical and commercial feasibility before participation in tenders. 3. Project Execution & Delivery Oversee the execution of multiple EPC projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, and quality teams for smooth execution. 4. Resource & Vendor Management Approve manpower deployment plans for all sites. Oversee vendor evaluation, selection, and ongoing performance monitoring. 5. Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all statutory, safety, and environmental standards. Conduct periodic site visits, quality audits, and risk assessments. 6. Team Leadership Lead and mentor Segment Managers and Project Managers to ensure operational excellence. Provide guidance, performance monitoring, and succession planning for the EPC leadership team. Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. 7. Reporting & Documentation Ensure timely project progress reporting, cost tracking, and documentation for management review. Present regular operational performance updates to top management. Key Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead leaders. Proven expertise in large-scale EPC project execution. Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. In-depth understanding of solar engineering, procurement, and construction processes. Knowledge of compliance, safety, and quality control practices. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering (MBA preferred). 12–18 years of solar EPC experience, with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role. Track record of successfully delivering multiple large-scale EPC projects. Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-time and within-budget project delivery. Zero major safety or quality non-compliances. Efficient utilization of manpower and resources. Segment Manager & Project Manager performance metrics achieved.
