Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President – Model RiskAs an AVP, Risk Analytics and Modeling, you will lead high-impact client engagements across the risk analytics spectrum — spanning model development and validation, portfolio and capital analytics, stress testing, model monitoring, and data-driven risk strategy design. The role blends strategic oversight with hands-on analytical leadership, applying advanced statistical, quantitative, and AI-driven techniques to deliver actionable insights and strengthen risk management outcomes. You will build and mentor high-performing analytics teams, ensure delivery excellence and regulatory alignment, and collaborate with practice and business leaders to shape solutions, drive innovation, and expand client relationships through value-added advisory and thought leadership. Overview and Key responsibilities:Lead delivery of advanced risk analytics and modelling engagements across Banking and Capital Markets, spanning credit, market, operational, and enterprise risk areas.Build and strengthen relationships with senior client stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor on quantitative risk management and analytics-driven transformation.Provide thought leadership, technical guidance, and oversight for teams working across model development, validation, monitoring, and implementation.Lead delivery of analytics solutions supporting risk measurement, regulatory compliance, portfolio management, stress testing, and capital planning.Oversee design and enhancement of risk models, data-driven insights, and decision strategies leveraging statistical, econometric, and machine learning techniques.Manage and mentor a team of high-performing risk analysts, modelers, and data scientists—driving excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.Ensure robust model governance and documentation aligned with regulatory expectations and internal standards.Partner with business, technology, and risk functions to translate analytical findings into actionable business strategies and process improvements.Bring in industry best practices and advanced analytical approaches (AI/ML, automation, visualization) to strengthen client outcomes and efficiency.Support business growth through solutioning, infusion of thought leadership/industry good practices, risk offerings build, RFP/RFI responses, client presentations and proposal development.Required skills and experienceMaster’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline.10+ years of experience in risk analytics modeling for global banks or financial institutions.Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as SR 11-7, Basel III, EBA/PRA IRB repair, CCAR/DFAST, FRTB, Fair Lending, IFRS 9, and CECL.Hands-on expertise across model types such as Decision Scorecards, Risk Rating, AIRB (PD, LGD, EAD), Stress Testing, and Loss Forecasting/Provisioning models.Proficiency in advanced statistical and machine learning techniques (Regression, Time Series, Survival Models, GBM, XGBoost, Random Forest, Neural Networks, etc.).Proven experience in model development and/or independent validation for US and/or European banks.Strong knowledge of risk analytics tools and programming languages (SAS, Python, SQL, MS Office).Demonstrated success in managing client relationships, leading high-performing quantitative teams, and delivering large-scale analytics programs.Experience contributing to business development through solution design, proposal support, and capability buildExcellent communication, consulting, and project management skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders (CRO, Risk Heads, Model Risk).Preferred experienceExperience in shaping and driving analytics transformation programs — embedding AI/ML, automation, or advanced analytics into risk management or model lifecycle processes.Proven ability to engage senior client stakeholders (CRO, Head of Model Risk, or Regulatory Reporting) to define strategy, roadmap, and operating models.Track record of building and scaling high-performing analytics teams and managing offshore–onshore delivery models.Experience with risk-tech transformation — modernizing model governance, strengthening risk data infrastructure, and automating model monitoring and implementationDemonstrated business acumen with the ability to translate quantitative insights into actionable risk or portfolio management strategies.Why join Genpact?
