The role involves managing end-to-end transportation across 300+ stores , ensuring cost-efficient, compliant, and on-time deliveries from multiple warehouses. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in trucking logistics, challan management, and transport portal operations . Key Responsibilities: Transportation Planning & Execution: Oversee daily dispatches from central and regional warehouses to 300+ stores across India. Plan and optimize routes, truck utilization, and cost structures for primary and secondary transportation. Vendor & Fleet Management: Manage transporters and 3PL partners; ensure timely deliveries and adherence to SLAs. Negotiate freight rates and monitor vendor performance to achieve cost and service efficiency. Documentation & Compliance: Supervise challan management , e-way bills , and ensure full statutory compliance for all shipments. Maintain proper transport documentation for audits and regulatory inspections. System & Portal Management: Manage and update the transportation management portal / ERP system for shipment tracking and reporting. Drive digitization initiatives to improve transport visibility and real-time tracking. Cost & Performance Management: Monitor logistics costs, analyze trends, and implement cost-saving measures. Track KPIs – on-time delivery, freight cost per ton/km, and service quality. Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Warehouse, Procurement, Finance, and Store Operations teams to ensure seamless dispatch and delivery. Support business growth and store expansion through scalable transportation planning. Candidate Profile: Graduate/Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management , or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in transportation/logistics management within retail or FMCG industries. Proven experience in PAN India trucking logistics and warehouse-to-retail distribution . Strong knowledge of TMS / ERP systems , transport documentation, and vendor handling. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and team management skills.
