BE / B.Tech in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a recognized university 2. Working knowledge or certified of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (Preferred)Preferred / Additional Skills1. Knowledge of IEC, IS, BIS, ASTM, IEEE standards applicable to solar power plants. 2. Knowledge of onsite Civil and electrical and mechanical testing applicable to solar power plants. 3. Strong understanding of:- Solar PV plant construction practices - EPC quality requirements and contract specifications1. Proficiency in quality documentation, audit handling, NCR & CAPA management 2. Good working knowledge of MS Office, dashboards, MIS & reporting tools 3. Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skillsRole & ResponsibilitiesA. Quality Leadership & Team Managementa) Ability to lead, manage, and control a team of quality engineers and inspectors (On roll & off roll) for utility scale solar PV projects ( Min 300MW) across Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines, ensuring effective deployment and performance.B. Incoming Material Quality Controla) Perform and oversee onsite incoming material inspection for all solar plant components upon receipt at site, including PV modules, MMS/trackers, inverters, transformers, cables, switchgear, earthing materials, etc., as per approved drawings, technical specifications, MDL, datasheets, and contract documents.C. In-Process Quality Control (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical)a) Perform and monitor in-process inspections in line with Field Quality Plan (FQP), approved drawings, procedures, and inspection checklists for all Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical construction activities.b) Ensure strict compliance to SOPs, ERM Compliance and approved quality plan at every construction stage.D. Documentation & Record Controla) Maintain, monitor, and control the quality documents like inspection checklists, quality records, test reports.b) Prepare and review quality-related documents, ensuring availability of approved drawings, inspection formats, calibrated testing equipment, and required tools at site.c) Ensure First-Off / First Article Inspection (FAI) is conducted jointly with EPC / vendors prior to commencement of any critical or repetitive activity.E. Training, Guidance & Process Controla) Provide technical guidance, training, and continuous support to site engineers, supervisors, and contractors for in-process activities as per approved SOPs, quality plans, and best practices.F. Reporting, MIS & Performance Monitoringa) Prepare and consolidate Daily Quality Reports (DQR) and Weekly / Monthly Quality MIS dashboards, highlighting inspection status, NCRs, observations, quality trends, key risks, and closure status, and circulate to all stakeholders.b) Ensure and maintain “First Time Right” performance of minimum 85% throughout the construction phase by effective quality planning and monitoring.c) Identify, monitor, and ensure compliance to Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) characteristics for Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical works.G. NCR, RCA & CAPA Managementa) Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for deviations observed in incoming materials, workmanship, or in-process activities against Quality Plan, approved specifications, standards, and drawings.b) Review and verify Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) submitted by EPC / vendors and ensure effective implementation and closure within stipulated timelines.c) Raise Quality Observations for minor deviations, monitor corrective actions with EPC / contractors, and ensure timely closure without impact on safety, performance, or reliability.H. Audit, Coordination & Continuous Improvementa) Coordinate closely with the EPC team for weekly, stage-wise quality documentation, including drawings, checklists, procedures, and inspection records.b) Conduct quality audits and reviews to ensure timely report generation, sign-off, accuracy, circulation, storage, and retrieval of quality documents.c) Conduct monthly “Lessons Learned” sessions for construction and EPC teams based on site observations and monitor Corrective Action (CA) implementation effectiveness.d) Audit, monitor, and ensure calibration, validity, and proper usage of inspection and testing equipment deployed at site as per approved calibration plans.I. Punch List, Handover & Close-Outa) Prepare, monitor, and close final punch lists for all in-process and completed activities through regular coordination meetings with EPC and vendors on daily and weekly basis, ensuring closure within target dates.b) Monitor HOTO (Handing Over & Taking Over) documentation daily, discipline-wise and process-wise, and ensure timely and complete handover to the O&M / Service team with full quality dossiers.
