The Role The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance and reliable operation of all plant utilities, mechanical and electrical systems, and equipment across the pharmaceutical facility. This role includes preventive and breakdown maintenance, project execution, equipment qualification, and compliance with GMP and safety regulations. The Maintenance Manager leads a cross-functional team to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and minimal downtime of all critical systems. Key Responsibilities Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, utility, and process equipment. Maintain and upkeep critical utilities, including boilers, chillers, DG sets, and water purification systems, ensuring energy efficiency, minimal downtime, and continuous operation of the plant without energy loss. Lead the installation, commissioning, and qualification (URS/DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ) of new equipment and systems. Manage HT/LT electrical systems including transformers, switchgears, panels, cabling, and substations. Supervise mechanical utilities and process equipment like HVAC systems, purified water systems, and other critical utilities. Coordinate and review project schedules, equipment FAT, drawings, BOQs, and vendor documentation. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, safety, and environmental standards. Manage site inspections, ensure quality execution, and resolve technical issues during installation or operation. Prepare and review maintenance documentation, progress reports, SOPs, and ensure timely invoice processing. Liaise with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional departments to support project execution and plant operations. Implement and improve maintenance best practices, cost control, and reliability strategies. Skills and Knowledge Root Cause Analysis: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve underlying issues in equipment failures and system inefficiencies. CMMS Proficiency: Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for tracking, planning, and optimizing maintenance activities. Documentation & Compliance: Accuracy in maintaining technical documentation, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance records. Energy Management Awareness: Understanding of energy-efficient practices and optimization of utility consumption.
