GCP Data Architect

Job Title: GCP Data & Analytics Architect Location: Bengaluru, Chennai Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GCP Data & Analytics Architect to design and lead the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into robust cloud data architecture, enabling advanced analytics, AI/ML, and real-time insights. Key Responsibilities: - Design end-to-end data architecture on GCP including ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption layers. - Develop scalable and secure data pipelines using tools such as Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Dataproc. - Lead the modernization of legacy data platforms to GCP, including migration strategy and implementation. - Create data models and design data lakes/warehouses to support BI, ML, and analytics use cases. - Implement data governance, security, access controls, and data quality frameworks. - Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Data Scientists to meet business requirements. - Provide architectural guidance and best practices for data lifecycle management, data cataloging, and metadata management. - Evaluate and recommend GCP services and third-party tools based on project needs. - Mentor junior engineers and review technical designs/code for quality assurance. - Work in Agile/Scrum teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field. - 10 -15 + years of experience in data engineering or data architecture roles, with 3+ years specifically on GCP. - Deep expertise in GCP services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Composer, GKE, etc. - Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and optionally Java/Scala. - Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow/Cloud Composer). - Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, data lakes, real-time streaming, and batch processing. - Knowledge of data governance, privacy, compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and IAM in GCP. - Familiarity with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI. - GCP certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect are a plus. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with AI/ML model deployment pipelines on GCP. - Exposure to multi-cloud environments and hybrid data strategies. - Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager). - Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., BFSI, Healthcare). Soft Skills: - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking. - Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
