We are launching a new Café with all day dining based in Yelahanka, Bangalore. We value you and take topics such as mental well-being, safety and growth very seriously.With our Senior Consulting celebrity Chef and our incredible team from all over India we are looking for a Head Chef.Responsibilities:Kitchen & Bakery Operations- Manage daily back-of-house operations including food prep, mise en place, production timelines, and service coordination. - Oversee bakery output — including breads, viennoiserie, cakes, and café accompaniments — with precision and creativity. - Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen, bakery, and front-of-house for seamless service.Team Leadership & Training- Recruit, train, and mentor junior chefs, bakers, and prep staff — fostering a culture of growth, discipline, and mutual respect. - Conduct regular kitchen meetings, tastings, and performance reviews. - Build a collaborative, low-ego environment that values craftsmanship and communication.Quality, Hygiene & Compliance- Implement and uphold rigorous standards for food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene across all stations. - Conduct daily quality checks — from produce freshness to final plating. - Maintain compliance with FSSAI regulations and internal health protocols.Inventory & Cost Management- Manage kitchen and bakery procurement — from sourcing sustainable, high-quality ingredients to vendor negotiations. - Monitor food costs, yields, and wastage to meet profitability targets without compromising quality. - Maintain accurate inventory records and stock rotation systems.Qualifications and Experience:- 5+ years of experience in professional kitchens, including at least 2 years in a leadership or sous chef role. - Strong foundation in vegetarian and continental cuisine, with an eye for modern techniques and presentation. - Demonstrated experience in bakery or patisserie operations is a major advantage. - Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments while maintaining composure and quality. - Sound knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety standards, and BOH management tools (e.g., prep sheets, costing templates). - Passion for hospitality, creativity, and building from scratch — this is a role for a builder, not a maintainer.If you believe that this job description matches your profile, we are super excited to hear from you and hopefully speak to you, very soon!
