About the role The Billing team at Rippling sits at the heart of every customer interaction — from onboarding and contracts to invoicing and payments — ensuring a seamless experience for clients across the globe. Managing over $700M in SaaS fees annually , the team plays a critical role in compliance, secure transactions, and global expansion, enabling localized billing for new country launches.We’re looking for an Engineering Manager for the Subscription Platform team , a core pillar within Billing that powers Rippling’s subscription lifecycle and pricing engine. This team is responsible for how Rippling monetizes products globally — managing new, renewal, upgrade, and downgrade flows, usage-based and hybrid pricing, and automated invoicing and proration across multiple currencies and tax jurisdictions.As the Engineering Manager, you’ll drive the end-to-end ownership of scalable systems that support multi-product, multi-entity, and multi-currency billing. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Finance, and Compliance to ensure accurate invoicing, tax handling, and audit readiness (SOX, GAAP). You’ll also partner across Rippling’s ecosystem — HR, IT, Finance, and Reseller products — to deliver a unified monetization platform that powers every line of business.Our vision: What you will need; We're looking for an Engineering Manager who has a strong product-building mindset and thrives in high-ownership environments. Key expectations from the role include: Product Development Experience : Hands-on experience building scalable products end-to-end. Should have been closely involved in defining and delivering both small and large-scale projects. Stakeholder Collaboration : Proven ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, both within India and globally. Strong collaboration and coordination skills are essential. Execution-Driven : Should be execution-oriented with a clear understanding of how to set up roadmaps, define milestones, and drive outcomes. People Leadership : Minimum of 2 years in a managerial role, with prior experience of 7-8 years as an Individual Contributor. Must have experience leading engineering teams and mentoring developers. Technical Foundation : While deep technical hands-on experience is good to have at this stage, the candidate should have a sound understanding of tech and be able to guide and review effectively. Communication Skills : Clear and effective communication is a must, especially when working with distributed teams and stakeholders. Experience Range : Total experience of 8–12 years (IC + Managerial).
