Engineer - Earth & Bonding

To undertake Earthing and Bonding design & engineering activities within the group, in respect of both design and consultancy services. To provide technical support and assistance. Responsibilities Undertaking of tasks as assigned, in particular: • Focus on earthing and bonding strategies, modelling and practical experience working across multiple disciplines • Apply high level conceptual, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills in the development of electrical earthing and bonding design solutions • Demonstrate earthing and bonding design experience, preferably including knowledge of traction system earthing and stray current mitigation methods • The role requires the ability to conduct studies including soil modeling, low frequency induction (LFI), and earth potential rise (EPR). • Embrace being or becoming eminent in the field of earthing and bonding and provide technical leadership and mentoring to other employees • Enjoy collaborating with clients and all areas of the business to enhance project outcomes • Develop, maintain and apply a working knowledge of relevant regulatory, engineering legislation, codes of practice and standards associated with earthing, bonding and lightning protection. • Experienced with CDGES, MATLAB, Bluebeam, and CAD software. Key Competencies / Skills • Experience in Earthing and Bonding design • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Typically, 3 years within a similar role • Exposure to Sydney Trains/Transport favourable • Strong understanding of earthing and bonding • Railway experience would be ideal, although a utility background will be considered if a strong understanding of earthing and bonding is demonstrated • Interest in mentoring junior Engineers and managing design packages and teams. Qualifications Degree or Masters in Electrical/Electronics and Power engineering. Ideally chartered or progressing to chartership Minimum of 6 years of experience in Earthing and Bonding engineering design.
