This position serves as the primary liaison between the India team, the US Tax Directors and other tax management, ensuring seamless communication, alignment of strategic objectives, and compliance with local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in US tax matters, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of managing cross-border teams in a dynamic, multinational environment.Key Responsibilities:- Lead, mentor, and manage the India tax team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and professional development. - Serve as the main point of contact between the India office and US tax management, facilitating regular updates, meetings, and strategic discussions. - Enforce efficient tax processes and controls to minimize risk and ensure timely compliance. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and use, fuel and excise, property tax and income tax to support department-wide initiatives and deadlines. - Provide technical guidance and training to the team on various tax matters and best practices. - Support tax audits and inquiries from authorities, coordinating responses and documentation as requested. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the India tax function, leveraging technology and process enhancements.Qualifications and Experience:- Chartered Accountant, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification. - Minimum 12+ years of experience in US tax, with at least 5+ years in a management or leadership role. - Strong technical knowledge of US direct or indirect taxes. - Demonstrated experience managing teams and projects in a multinational organization. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across geographies. - Proficiency in tax technology tools and ERP systems. - High level of integrity, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
