Electrical Design Engineer

Position: Electrical Design EngineerPLACE OF POSTING: BangaloreEDUCATIONAL BACKGROUNDBachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.WORK EXPERIENCE (Industry, Area of experience, Years of Experience)Minimum of 2–9 years in electrical design within the real estate or construction industry.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTESStrong electrical engineering knowledge: Proficient in power systems, lighting, grounding, and building services.Familiarity with building codes: Knowledge of local electrical codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), IEC, and energy efficiency standards.Proficiency in design tools: Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux, or similar software.RESPONSIBILITIES Electrical System Design: Develop detailed electrical designs for residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and low-voltage systems.Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs adhere to local and international standards, including the National Building Code (NBC), Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), and other relevant regulations.Load Calculations & Sizing: Perform electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop analysis and short-circuit studies to optimize system performance and safety.Technical Documentation: Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Distribution Board Schedules (DBR), layout plans, and technical specifications for tendering and approvals.Coordination & Collaboration: Work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into building designs.Site Supervision & Quality Assurance: Oversee installation activities, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.Energy Efficiency & Sustainability: Incorporate energy-efficient solutions and green building practices into electrical designs to promote sustainability.Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and address technical queries.
